Not just for barns anymore!
Today’s ribbed roofing is used on many more building types than barns and outbuildings.
Corrugated (ribbed roofing) has been around for decades, it is typically used on sloped roofs to aid in channeling water, snow and ice off the roofs.
Ribbed roofing has come a long way since its introduction, in terms of what types of buildings it is used on. Initially it was primarily for agricultural buildings. Today, however, with the wide variety of ribbed roofing, colors, styles, and patterns it is used on residential, commercial, and agricultural buildings. The main reasons for its success are its low cost, ease of installation, longevity, and light weight. Aesthetically it has made tremendous strides. Many of today’s ribbed roofing material look nothing like their predecessors. Also, due to its light weight, it can be directly installed over other roofing products such as asphalt shingles, thus making roofing projects easier and cheaper.
